P. H. Reid, M.D.

After graduating with his M.D. in 1968, Dr. Reid worked as a general practitioner in the Newfoundland Cottage Hospital system and as Chief Casualty officer at the St. John's General Hospital. He returned to study electrodiagnostics at Ohio State University in Columbus OH, prosthetics and orthotics at New York University in New York, NY, and physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Nova Scotia Rehab Center. He received his certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Physiatry in 1976.

Since then, Dr. Reid has had a private medical practice in Saint John, New Brunswick. He has served as the director of the rehabilitation unit at the West Saint John Community Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital from 1977 to 2002. In addition Dr. Reid served under the Surgeon General as Area Surgeon (Atlantic), with responsibilities for New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland based out of Land Force Atlantic Headquarters in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Today Dr. Reid maintains a solo medical practice. Dr. Reid is also teaching the next generation of physicians though his posts as lecturer at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Assistant Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's.
